Folio > Murals

It's a tribute to DC and its vibrant art history. HR was the singer for Bad Brains, a significant part of DC Hardcore. Gene Davis was a leader of the Washington Color School, a significant era in DC fine art history. The stripes in this mural reference Davis' signature rhythmic stripe paintings. I wanted to highlight the overlap of these two awesome art communities in this work.
Since we do not have the luxury of viewing this painting straight on because of the narrow alley in which this is placed, I have stretched the images into anamorphic proportions so that it can appear less distorted from the ends of the alley.
